SPRING 12 RETAIL TRENDS: Europe by Fran Yoshioka

Trend forecaster, Fran Yoshioka recently returned from her seasonal trip to London and Paris to visit the retail stores and glean the current trends in women’s fashion. As she reports on her blog Fran found that “the color message was very clear in both London and Paris; and while there were fewer ideas and looks, the key items were repeated in every market”

Four Key Messages
ACID YELLOW - The #1 fashion color in every classification and in every market

SILKY - Everything is silky in textile attitude: tops, layering pieces, skirts, pants, shorts, dresses, jackets! Solid and printed. Real silk and rather cheap-looking polyester in the young and moderate areas.

SOLID COLOR SKINNY JEANS AND BOTTOMS- These items overwhelming took over the indigo denim departments and were on every mannequin as the important key item and must-have bottom!

PRINTS, PRINTS, PRINTS! - Everywhere you looked–the motifs didn’t matter, it was more about technique and layouts.
