Big news in the media world this morning with the acquisition of internet newspaper, The Huffington Post by AOL in a deal said to be worth $315 million. I admit to having had a begrudging admiration for many years on The HuffPo’s founder and editor, Arianna Huffington, nee Stassinopoulous. Once described as “the most upwardly mobile Greek since Icarus” Mrs Huffington has consistently managed to re-invent herself throughout both her work and personal lives.

Why call this new website hall five? I considered a lot of possibilities, Global Network of Trend Forecasters, (GNTF)?, International Group of Trend Professionals (IGTP)?, Hmmmm? But I kept coming back to the same fact, that the only place I have ever come across a large group of trend professionals is at the fabric trade show, Premiere Vision held in the Parc d’Expositions in Northern Paris. Many of the world’s top trend companies have a booth at the fair in, yes, you’ve guessed it, Hall 5!

That said, the number of women watching Sunday Night Football has risen by 23% in the past two years, making it the third most watched show on TV in the female 18 to 49 age range.
